Jessica Rico is from Chino Hills, CA. She marched with the Ayala High School Band and Color Guard from 2005–2009. She then went on to march Riverside City College Color Guard for 2 years and Fantasia Winter Guard from 2011-2014.
She has instructed several color guards throughout Southern California including Nogales High School, Trabuco Hills High School, Townsend Middle School, Chino Hills High School, and Ayala High School. She is happy to be back at Ayala High School this year. For the past 8 years, she has worked at Rancho Cucamonga HS, recent WGI “A Class” finalists. Jessica is the current caption head at El Toro High School and has been for the past six years. Since her arrival, El Toro has been promoted two classes in the WGASC circuit, moving them up this year to Scholastic A. She has also worked multiple summers with The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps.
Jessica attended Cal State Fullerton and received her BA in Criminal Justice with a minor in Geology. When she is not teaching, she has her own small calligraphy business where she does lettering for graduation caps, weddings, and more. She enjoys being able to have a creative outlet at home and in her teaching career. Both art and choreography have been a passion of hers and she is looking forward to exploring these further in the future.
